The non-Fox media has apparently decided that surprising election results over the past year – starting with Democrat defeats in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts - are a result of voter revolt against incumbent politicians, regardless of their political affiliation. Yesterday’s election outcomes including the defeat of Arlen Specter (Republican, no Democrat…wait, what was he?) and Rand Paul’s Tea Party win over Republican establishment favorite Trey Grayson feed this narrative. RedStateVT says that November will be the real test. We suspect it’s less about incumbency and more about policy.
Lest We Forget
On Tuesday, the toll of American dead in Afghanistan passed 1,000, after a suicide bomb in Kabul killed at least five United States service members. (NYT, 5/19/10)
With George Bush out of office, we no longer receive the constant media updates on the number of American lives lost in the War on Terror. We honor the brave men and women who serve and those who have given their lives in defense of the country.
