Two great points recently from Rush Limbaugh:
1-The U.S. military accidentally bombs a hospital in Afghanistan. Obama's name is never mentioned. Had the same thing happened when George Bush was president, Democrats would have called for him to be impeached!
2- Four Americans are killed in Benghazi and Democrats blame the killings on a video. Nine people are killed in Oregon and Democrats blame guns.

1- Britain used to have an empire, meaning that it wiped out exotic diseases, ended tribal bloodshed, expanded literacy, and generally dragged primitive societies into the nineteenth century.
2- Perhaps we should consider qualifications (for immigration) more stringent than "lives within walking distance."
Reversal
Mrs. Clinton’s position on the Trans-Pacific Partnership represents a reversal of her earlier support for the agreement. She backed the pact while serving in the Obama administration, calling it the “gold standard” for trade deals during a trip to Australia in 2012. As a senator from New York in 2002, Mrs. Clinton described NAFTA as one of the accomplishments of her husband, former President Bill Clinton. (Wall Street Journal, 10/8/2015)

More than 30 other cities have also reported increases in violence from a year ago. In New Orleans, 120 people had been killed by late August, compared with 98 during the same period a year earlier. In Baltimore, homicides had hit 215, up from 138 at the same point in 2014. In Washington, the toll was 105, compared with 73 people a year ago. And in St. Louis, 136 people had been killed this year, a 60 percent rise from the 85 murders the city had by the same time last year....“Across the country, we’ve all found it’s not the individual who never committed a crime before suddenly killing somebody,” Mr. McCarthy said on Monday. “It’s the repeat offenders. Liberals are marching in the streets after thugs who threaten police and refuse to surrender are shot. Meanwhile the thugs are killing each other - and the occasional innocent victim - with abandon. We've seen this movie before: tougher laws will eventually be enacted to take the criminals off the streets and keep them off the streets. And then, inevitably, Liberals will begin to whine about how poor minority neighborhoods were decimated by the mass incarceration of young males. (That is, the thugs.)
Egged on by Vice President Al Sharpton, President Hillary Clinton will open the jail doors and set the criminals free.
Blow by Blow
Monday on CNN’s “AC360,” New York Times columnist and CNN regular Charles Blow was asked to react to the argument the Black Lives Matter movement and misses a point that all lives matter and shouldn’t be used as a rallying cry.
According to Blow, it’s a “great concept” but ignores the different treatments of people along racial lines.
“In general, that is a great concept,” Blow replied. “And I wish that all of America believed that all lives matter. However, what we see is disparate treatments of different segments of the population, particularly along racial lines in America, which looks like devaluation of specific segments of the population, specifically black people. And I think that until America says, in its core, that all lives matter, it is appropriate, and in fact necessary to point out the lives that America seems to value less.”
Blow went on to argue that since the government in charge in America is a reflection of the people, America is against black people because certain elements of the government don’t treat blacks equally in his view. (Breitbart.com, 8/31/2015)
If only America had a black president. Or a black woman as senior advisor to a black president. Or a black Attorney General. Or black congressmen. Or black governors. Or black mayors.

Charles Blow, a black, left-wing New York Times columnist, took to Twitter and the pages of the Times to excoriate Yale and a campus police officer over his son being detained at gunpoint. Apparently, Blow’s son met the description of a campus burglar. After learning of the incident, an incensed Blow published a series of racially-charged Tweets followed by a racially-charged Times column.....As it turns out, the officer is black. Liberals sooner or later must raise taxes on the middle class because taxing the rich alone can’t possibly finance all of the Democratic Party’s entitlement schemes. The middle class is where the real money is. So while taxing 529s may die for now, it’s only a matter of time before liberals are back with a carbon tax or value-added tax or something. Charles M. Blow: Liar at the New York Times
Then came the signing of the Civil Rights Act by the Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson — although he wasn’t perfect on the issue of race, and the bill passed partly because of Republican support. (Charles M. Blow, New York Times, 11/13/2014)
Blow purports to write an objective history of race and politics in the U.S. Of course, he tilts the facts to fit his conclusion that Republicans are racists. Oh, and he lies. Blow says Lyndon B. Johnson "wasn't perfect" neglecting to mention that Johnson is quoted as calling the Civil Rights Act a "n***r bill." In addition, Blow, like E.J. Dionne over at the Washington Post, lies about Republican support for the Civil Rights Act. Blow says it passed "partly because of Republican support" when, in fact, a greater percentage of Republicans than Democrats voted in favor of it.
We will not be lectured by Democrats on race when they lie about the issue.
It is Democrats who perpetuate the myth of Republicans as the party of (racist) white men. Which is exactly why they must vilify Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, Ben Carson, Tim Scott, J.C. Watts, Condi Rice, Mia Love, Sarah Palin, Nikki Haley, etc. etc.
You're Stupid!

What Gruber is really saying - and RedStateVT is the first to note this - is that Democrats who supported Obamacare are stupid. Consider that support for the bill has never been above 50%. So half of the country, let's call them Republicans, have ALWAYS been against the bill, seeing it for the dysfunctional government entitlement program which it has become. They were not then and are not now "stupid." From the beginning, they saw that Obamacare was an abomination. So those who did support the bill, call them Democrats, are the stupid ones. We are happy to provide this clarification.
Thumpity Dump
Although they do not present it this way, in some ways Mr. Obama and his aides are taking a page from President George W. Bush’s playbook after his own “thumping” in his final midterm elections. Instead of pulling out of the deteriorating war in Iraq, as Democrats interpreted Mr. Bush’s election mandate, he sent more troops. Democrats like Mr. Obama, then a senator, accused the president of defying the voters. In the end, the reinforcements and a strategy change helped turn around the war. (New York Times, 11/14/2014)
So helpfully, the Times tells us two things: once again Obama (how many times is that now?) said one thing as a senator only to do the opposite as president; and second, George Bush's surge secured success in Iraq. The Times omits, however, the follow-up: Obama then squandered this success which has led to the madness of ISIS.

Instead of simply being spun out from Procter & Gamble, Duracell will find a new corporate home — with Warren E. Buffett. The billionaire’s conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway, said on Thursday that it would acquire the battery maker from P.&G. through an unusual transaction aimed at lowering the overall tax bill. It is important to recognize that not everyone experiences the types of threat responses Cuban does based on race, attire and tattoos — and as far as we can tell from his comment, without articulated attitudes or demonstrated hostility. This casual ascribing of intention, based solely on appearance, draws on deep-seated suspicions constructed over a lifetime of subtle and sometimes overt racial conditioning. This, too, must be acknowledged and accounted for. It is the same sort of suspicion that set in motion the events that led George Zimmerman to shoot Trayvon Martin. (Charles M. Deep thinker Blow weighs in on the Mark Cuban brouhaha to explain....well, we are not sure. "Casual ascribing of intention, based solely on appearance?" Well maybe when every single criminal on the 6 o'clock news is either a gang-banger wearing a hoodie and jeans hanging about his ankles or a skinhead with neck tattoos than there is something more than "casual" going on. And before Blow says what we know he is going to say we will answer. Yes, middle class black and white kids emulate criminal attire. So society is then supposed to differentiate between the kid making a fashion statement and the criminal? Sorry, if there is doubt, just to be safe we are thinking criminal. You want to dress like a criminal, you take your chances.

CNN’s John King said the tone among Democrats behind closed doors on President Obama’s handling of the V.A. scandal is “scathing.”
“Forget for a moment that Republican outrage,” he said Sunday morning. “More and more Democrats in key 2014 races are calling for the president to get a spine, they say, and fire his Veterans Affairs secretary. And what more and more Democrats are saying privately is scathing, calling the president and his team detached, flat footed, even incompetent.”
King then turned to Politico panelist Maggie Haberman and said “what strikes me, what Democrats are saying privately in the wakes of the healthcare.gov problems, they see a president who doesn’t want to take command, doesn’t want to act fast – raising the competence question. Some Democrats, who believe in government, [are saying] this White House doesn’t appear to have its hand on the lever.”
Haberman agreed, citing several other mishaps including President Obama purportedly missing a Senate foreign policy meeting many expected him to attend. “All of this adds up to somebody who just doesn’t seem at all involved,” she said. (Washington Free Beacon, 5/26/2014)

It seems that every time Obama gets into trouble (usually of his own making, we might add) one or more of his sycophants hauls out the race card. So Charles Blow of the New York Times writes one of his race-obsessed columns and Oprah, the wealthiest and most successful black woman ever, darkly hints of racism. The Tea Party did not sabotage Healthcare.gov, nor did it cause Obama to repeatedly lie about Americans keeping their insurance plans. Yet despite absolutely no tangible proof somehow there is racism in the hearts of those who oppose Obama. Meanwhile we remind readers of what two of Obama's biggest supporters said. Joe Biden called Obama "clean." Harry Reid said that Obama "does not speak with a negro dialect unless he wants."

Democrats are aghast that Geithner is now going into private equity. "We just successfully exposed Mitt Romney as a vulture capitalist, willing to kick American workers to the curb in the quest for obscene wealth, now one of our own is going down this dark path," a prominent Democrat opined. "We would be hypocrites if we did not speak out and object loudly" another Democrat said.

Why is RedStateVT the Only Major Media Outlet Reporting This?
Two weeks ago Saturday Night Live, that ultra hip purveyor of New York Liberal thought, actually did a skit mocking Obamacare. Obama administration officials accustomed to watching SNL to get their yucks when Sarah Palin and John Boehner are maligned must have had seizures. You know your second term is in trouble when you are a Liberal president and SNL begins making fun of your signature policy issue. We at RedStateVT took extra satisfaction in SNL's swipe at the Obamacare provision which allows deadbeat 26 year olds to remain on dad's health insurance.
Blow Back
This is bigger than Obamacare. This is about rich conservatives seeking to exert unlimited influence on our political system, and employing far-right Republicans who are animated, to varying degrees, by an innate hostility to this president, fear of diminishing influence and a disavowal of disagreeable truths.

Writing about the McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission case before the Supreme Court, humorist Charles M. Blow dusts off his "Evil Republicans: Big Money in Politics" column. How can any serious columnist write an article on this subject which mentions the Koch Brothers, but fails to mention George Soros?
Answer: Blow is not a serious journalist.

Disarmament
Republicans armed themselves with disputed talking points from the gun lobby about how a bill to expand background checks and outlaw a national gun registry was instead tantamount to a national gun registry. Turning the dispute from gun safety to gun rights, they took to the Senate floor to denounce the compromise, even arguing with its sponsors, Senator Joe Manchin III, Democrat of West Virginia, and Patrick Toomey, Republican of Pennsylvania, two National Rifle Association-blessed lawmakers who could not contain their umbrage. Mr. Obama on Wednesday accused the gun lobby and opposition lawmakers of willfully lying about the measure. (NYT, 4/17/2013)
We'll make three points:
1) We wonder if Democrats armed themselves with "disputed talking points" from Liberal academics and the Obama administration about Obamacare.... Of course, there was no "willful lying" back then.
2) In his remarks, Obama expressed indignation that some on the other side objected to his constant parading of the Newtown parents. Here is how we see it. We are heartbroken for the loss these parents suffered. It is incalculable. Do the parents have a right to speak out? Of course they do. However, we should not reflexively pass legislation that the parents want simply because they have suffered a loss. For one thing, the parents do not speak with one voice. Some Newtown parents have come out against gun legislation. Similarly, anti-war mom Cindy Sheehan was said by some on the Left to speak with "absolute moral authority" against the war because her son had died in Iraq. Until it was pointed out that some moms of deceased soldiers supported the war! Ann Coulter was excoriated by Liberals for her attacks on the "Jersey Girls." But Coulter's point was that the Jersey Girls had given up their status as apolitical victims of a horrible tragedy to take a political position in opposition to the Bush administration. Once they did, they were subject to the same public scrutiny as any public commentator on their motives and their political views. That's the way it works.
3) If we are beaming today, it's because we were listening to Rush Limbaugh today and heard him repeat a point from yesterday's post. Namely that the failed gun legislation would have done absolutely nothing to prevent the Newtown massacre. Does El Rushbo read RedStateVT?

According to a Unicef report issued last week — “Child Well-Being in Rich Countries” — the United States once again ranked among the worst wealthy countries for children, coming in 26th place of 29 countries included.

According to the report, the United States has the second highest share of children living under the relative poverty line, defined as 50 percent of each country’s median income, and the second largest “child poverty gap” (the distance between the poverty line and the median incomes of those below the line).

And yet somehow, despite the abject poverty and abysmal conditions in the U.S., people from other countries will risk everything to come to America. Amazing!
Humor columnist Blow apparently never got....er, never read the memo that notes that other countries report fraudulent data. No country wants to be at the bottom so they game the study. Liberals like Blow just love these studies because they confirm their beliefs that the U.S. is a corrupt country that can only be cured by more spending on entitlements.
