Why Democrats Should Like Donald Trump
In many regards, the persona of Donald Trump is entirely consistent with many of the things that Democrats have practiced over the years; things that have given Republicans pause, but which Democrats have insisted are (pick one) no big deal, nobody's business/private matters or representative of mainstream behavior. Far from criticizing Trump, Democrats should embrace him. Let's review several of the popular knocks on Trump and explain why.
The Donald has been married three times.
In the distant past, anything other than a happily married candidate was a non-starter for political viability. While Ronald Reagan opened the door to a divorced president, it was Bill Clinton and his MoveOn supporters who ended the notion that a president's conduct in and around marriage mattered.
The Donald may have engaged in some dubious real estate deals.
No doubt when faced with Republican nominee Trump Democrats will want to talk about real estate. Do they really want to go there? Democrats are heavily burdened with Whitewater, Harry Reid's Nevada shenanigans and, oh yeah, Barack and Michelle's dubious Chicago land deal. You remember, don't you? The one where they bought an adjoining parcel at a sweetheart price from a convicted felon. It doesn't get talked about that much, but if the Dems want to talk real estate, let's talk real estate.
The Donald speaks off the cuff and sometimes says outrageous things.
One name. Joe Biden. End of discussion.
The Donald changes his position.
Most politicians do. Why Obama and Hillary were once even against gay marriage!
The Donald is rich.
Trump was born rich, but went out and made himself richer through hard work. So apparently Democrats believe that is worse than getting rich by giving six figure speeches to special interest groups seeking to curry favor? Like the previous issues, being rich is not a point on which Democrats can argue. In fact, Democrats should embrace their inner Trump. Why he can even be the country's first true consensus candidate!
Make America Great Again!
Burn Down the Missions
The Plan to Shut Down Gitmo: Congress should carefully consider the Obama administration’s viable plan to shut down the prison at Guantánamo Bay by the end of the year. (New York Times editorial, 2/23/2016)
Imagining a Rikers Island With No Jail: The sensible thing to do with the jail complex is to close it. (New York Times editorial, 2/24/2016)
We are starting to see a pattern here. Do you?
Liberals are NOT soft on crime (repeat ten times).
And here's another thought: With the New York Times closing down a prison a day, why do we even need to replace Justice Scalia? At this rate, there will be little for judges to do!
Strained
Mr. Sanders, those who know him say, exemplifies a distinct strain of Judaism, a secular offshoot at least 150 years old whose adherents in the shtetls of Eastern Europe and the jostling streets of the Lower East Side were socialists, anarchists, radicals and union organizers focused less on observance than on economic justice and repairing a broken world. (New York Times, 2/24/2016)
Yes, you read that correctly. Bernie comes from a long line of socialists and anarchists.

Obama Unveils Post Paris Strategy: Attack Republicans
Unsettling Science
A panel of prominent scientists debunked one of the most popular global warming arguments ahead of a major United Nations climate summit to take place in Paris later this month.
The scientists slammed policies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions as “nonsense,” and they criticized politicians and activists for claiming the world was on the path for catastrophic global warming.
“The most important thing to keep in mind is — when you ask ‘is it warming, is it cooling’, etc. — is that we are talking about something tiny (temperature changes) and that is the crucial point,” Dr. Richard Lindzen, a veteran climate scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. (Dailycaller.com, 11/20/2015)
So is climate change settled science or not? Someone better get to Dr. Lindzen and warn him that funding will dry up if he does not toe the Liberal line. Meanwhile, the Liberal media will ignore this.
Zero
Mr. Sanders zeros in on Wall Street donations to Mrs. Clinton in an aggressive new television commercial that started running in Iowa and New Hampshire on Saturday: “The truth is, you can’t change a corrupt system by taking its money,” he warns. (New York Times, 11/22/2015)
That's fine if Bernie wants to knock Hillary around on Wall Street donations. Nothing could make us happier. But if Bernie were truly honest (hint: he is not) he would remind everyone that Obama was also a major benefactor of Wall Street money. Guess that is an inconvenient truth. Liberal amnesia.
Fighting Evictions, a Single Mother Draws Strength From Her Children (New York Times headline, 11/21/2015)
Today's New York Times Victim of the Week: Gardenia Valerio. Here is what we learn about Gardenia: She has three kids, but apparently never married. Her "partner" walked out, possibly when she was pregnant. The kids play on tablets. She has a smartphone. The Times then goes on to list the various public and private benefits she collects.
Nothing is going to change for the better until society begins to hold people accountable for their own poor decisions.
That Thing They Do
What progressives love is to be the mediators who decide which companies to reward (e.g., alternative energy providers) and which to punish via the tax and regulatory code. (Wall Street Journal, 11/21/2015)
And they usually get it wrong. (See Solyndra).

Bernie Gets Burned! Now Forced to Say "Black Lives Matter" Every Day
Poor Babes
Prisoners say they were brutally interrogated after two inmates escaped from a New York prison (New York Times headline, 8/11/2015)
Oh no! The murderers and rapists were treated harshly!
Hamburger Hell
...(Wendy's Company) CFO Todd Penegor talked about the pressure to pay higher wages and said that “we continue to look at initiatives and how we work to offset any impacts of future wage inflation through technology initiatives, whether that’s customer self-order kiosks, whether that’s automating more in the back of the house in the restaurant. (Wall Street Journal, 8/11/2015)
Liberals somehow are congenitally unable to comprehend the results of their harebrained ideas. Let's raise the minimum wage to $15! Result: more automation and fewer workers.
Stooge
Apparently, the president figures that the politics work better when he projects Olympian confidence about his diplomacy than when he acknowledges some measure of uncertainty. Apparently, he thinks it’s wiser to tar opponents of the deal as partisans or idiots or paid stooges than to engage them as sincere, thoughtful people who came to their own conclusions. (Bret Stephens, Wall Street Journal, 8/11/2015)
Harvard lawyer and constitutional scholar Obama never - ever - thinks to make the case for his deal; i.e. here are the pros and cons and here is why I choose the approach that I did. Instead, his tactic is to disparage those who disagree. This is the president who Liberals extol as brilliant.

On the Vine
Bad Science
Twenty-nine of the nation’s top scientists — including Nobel laureates, veteran makers of nuclear arms and former White House science advisers — wrote to President Obama on Saturday to praise the Iran deal, calling it innovative and stringent. (New York Times, 8/9/2015)
Which inevitably recalls the column written a while back by George Will who quoted Albert Einstein's comments when Nazi Germany announced "100 scientists against Einstein." Einstein said: "If I was wrong, they would need only one."
Far Away
Even as support for ending marijuana prohibition is building around the country, Congress and the Obama administration remain far too timid about the need for change. (New York Times editorial, 8/9/2015)
New York Times editors want to legalize marijuana...and outlaw plastic water bottles.
Hands Off
“What this campaign is doing is sending a loud and clear message to the billionaire class: And that is that their greed is destroying the United States of America,” Mr. Sanders, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, shouted above the roar of the crowd. “This country belongs to all of us — and not just a handful of billionaires.” (New York Times, 8/9/2015)
"And by 'billionaires' I mean George Soros, Tom Steyer and Jeffrey Katzenberg."
Lapsed
Against the backdrop of other current government computer security lapses, notably the large-scale theft of files from the Office of Personnel Management, most specialists believe the occasional appearance of classified information in the Clinton account was probably of marginal consequence. (New York Times, 8/9/2015)
Correction (we would like to see):
Against the backdrop of other current government computer security lapses, notably the large-scale theft of files from the Office of Personnel Management, most specialists who plan to vote for Hillary Clinton believe the occasional appearance of classified information in the Clinton account was probably of marginal consequence.
White Privilege
At a Saturday afternoon rally in Seattle, Washington, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Sen. Bernie Sanders was shut down by screeching Black Lives Matters protestors. As Sanders was speaking, two women surrounded his podium and said they would shut the event down if they were not allowed to speak. When an attempt was made to ask the women to “be reasonable,” they began shouting. Soon, avowed socialist Sanders was forced to leave the stage where he shook hands with many white well-wishers in the audience. (Breitbart.com, 8/9/2015)
Trust us, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing Liberals confronted....by even crazier Liberals!

Heartbreaker
Mr. Biden’s first campaign in 1988 ended in heartbreak after news reports that he plagiarized parts of a speech and exaggerated his academic record forced him to drop out. (New York Times, 8/2/2015)
Really? Biden's first presidential run ended in "heartbreak" after he was caught cheating?
We might say that it ended in shame and embarrassment.
Puzzling
In all, this second cache of emails that Mrs. Clinton sent and received during 2009 and parts of 2010, released by the State Department by court order, added 1,356 new tiles to the mosaic of her tenure in President Obama’s cabinet. And the monthly release of the emails prescribed by the court ensures that her handling of her electronic correspondence will be updated throughout the 2016 presidential campaign. (New York Times, 8/2/2015)
So this is how the New York Times is going to describe Hillary Clinton's disastrous term as Secretary of State. It was a "mosaic!" Is this a joke?
Dogged
In the way that some conservatives worry that marriage equality will ultimately lead to people walking down the aisle with their goats or their half-sisters, some dog owners feared that DNA testing would open the gates to a new era of unstoppable oppression and tyranny. (New York Times, 8/2/2015)
It's Bash Conservatives Day at the New York Times today. How do we know? Every author, no matter what the subject, has to include a denigrating comment about right-wingers. And so here we have an article about a Brooklyn co-op dealing with a problem related to dog owners not cleaning up dog feces. Note how the Times has cleverly tied it back to conservatives.
(By the way, just kidding! It's Bash Conservatives Day at the New York Times every day!)
Beggar Man
At one point, Mr. Sanders begged for the crowd’s indulgence to discuss his campaign platform before focusing on the “save our cities” subject of the gathering. But he called that “your theme” — an off-key remark, and one that echoed a speech he made on Thursday, in which he twice referred to Latinos as “your people” before the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. (New York Times, 8/2/2015)
Bernie Sanders says "your people" to a group of Latinos which apparently is politically incorrect. Not to worry, it gets virtually no press coverage and the Times buries it in Section Q. If Scott Walker said "your people" to a group of Latinos it would be the end of his presidential campaign.

We Insist that Joe Biden Run for President
A RedStateVT Editorial
The initial promise of the Bernie Sanders No Deodorant Presidential Campaign is beginning to fade. The Bern has failed to deliver any new bon mots lately and, frankly, we are getting bored of hearing about how the "billionaires and millionaires" are ruining everything. And then the Colonel heads to Martha's Vineyard to party. How very unprogressive. Sure Hillary is stepping up to the plate. We just loved it when she said of her self-inflicted e-mail scandal: "The facts are clear." That is good stuff. As for the other Dems....zip, zero, zilch. O'Malley and Chaffee have given us nothing. (There might be one other Dem running but we cannot remember his name. What does that tell you?) It is time for Joe Biden, serial groper and human gaffe machine to enter the race. We need him now!
Castaway
Therefore, Mrs. Clinton cast questions about her emails as little more than an interagency squabble over which emails should be made public under freedom of information laws. “What I think you’re seeing here is a very typical kind of discussion, to some extent disagreement, among various parts of the government over what should or should not be publicly released,” she said. The debate among government agencies “has nothing to do with me,” Mrs. Clinton added. “They can fight over it or argue over it. That’s up to them.” (Wall Street Journal, 7/26/2015)
So Hill sets up her own server, sends classified e-mails from it, then deletes the e-mails and the fuss is all just a bureaucratic squabble. As Peggy Noonan famously says: "the Clintons are insulated from charges of corruption by their reputation for corruption."
Commuter-in-Chief
President Obama announced on Monday that he was commuting the sentences of 46 federal drug offenders, more than doubling the number of nonviolent criminals to whom he has granted clemency since taking office. (New York Times, 7/13/2015)
Once again President Obama focuses with laser-like precision on the issues that a majority of Americans deem MOST important. Who among us has not said: "Gee, I wish the president would let more criminals out of jail?"
End Game
After years of debate about whether the government should encourage end-of-life planning – an idea that Sarah Palin claimed would lead to “death panels” cutting off care to the sick – Medicare, the federal program that insures 55 million older and disabled Americans, is now proposing to reimburse doctors for having conversations with patients about whether and how they would want to be kept alive if they become too sick to speak for themselves. (New York Times, 7/8/2015)
Obsessed with Sarah Palin as they are, Liberals constantly belittle and misrepresent her. It makes them feel intellectually superior. It turns out, of course, that Palin is right. Through Obamacare, Medicare seeks to reduce reimbursement rates for doctors treating the elderly infirmed and now will instead pay them to talk grandma into ending it all. Sarah Palin will now accept your apologies.
Revved Up
But with the presidential campaign revving up, Democrats and abortion rights supporters are bracing for a sustained, sophisticated and coordinated effort to force a debate on the uncomfortable moral and ethical questions that abortion raises. (New York Times, 7/27/2015)
The New York Times admits that abortion raises "uncomfortable moral and ethical questions?" How did this slip past their editors? We thought abortion was a women's health issue.

Do You Prefer Bernie Claus or Santa Sanders?
Relationships
Hillary Rodham Clinton’s relations with the political news media had been tense long before she declared her candidacy in April, and her campaign’s efforts to try and improve those relations have backfired at times. (New York Times, 7/11/2015)
Such efforts to try and improve those relations which include - literally - roping off the press. Funny that the New York Times does not mention that.
From the same article, Big Dog Bill tells us who is really too blame for bad relations between politicians and the press:
"...Mr. Clinton ultimately put the blame squarely on the political press."
And the fawning lapdog Liberal Media responds: "Hit us again, sir, harder!"
Honesty
This summer insurers must submit rates to state regulators for approval on the ObamaCare exchanges in 2016—and even liberals are shocked at the double-digit requests, or at least the honest liberals are. Under ObamaCare, year-over-year premium increases above 10% must also be justified to the Health and Human Services Department, and its data base lists about 650 such cases so far. (Wall Street Journal, 7/11/2015)
It's working! Obamacare is working!
Nuked
While U.S. and Iranian negotiators gave themselves more time Friday to reach a nuclear deal that could improve the countries’ ties, crowds of Iranians here chanted “Death to America,” just as they have for 36 years. (latimes.com, 7/11/2015)
Coming soon, a nuclear deal with Obama's BFFs: the Iranian mullahs!
Do Black Lives Still Matter?
Now the surge in violent crime — as of Wednesday there had been 155 homicides in Baltimore this year, up from 105 in the same period last year — has made the mayor’s balancing act even trickier: Can she rein in a Police Department with a long history of aggressive, sometimes abusive behavior and at the same time bring crime under control? ... Homicides are higher than a year ago in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, St. Louis and other cities. In Los Angeles, Mayor Eric Garcetti recently announced a 12 percent increase in overall crime, though killings were down slightly. (New York Times, 7/12/2015)
Of course black lives matter. But Liberals are pathologically focused on the occasional death of a black man in police custody - yes, tragic - under ambiguous circumstances. Meanwhile hundreds more are being killed.
Mr. Sanders Goes to the Vineyard
Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has risen in the polls thanks in part to his denunciations of the forces of concentrated wealth, drawing thousands of liberals to hear his jeremiads against corporate power in early nominating states and liberal hubs such as Madison, Wis.
But Mr. Sanders quietly stepped off the campaign trail this weekend to visit Martha’s Vineyard, a favorite summer destination of the country’s elite, in order to mix with representatives of some of the same interests he inveighs against in his stump speech. (New York Times, 7/12/2015)

The Bernie Sanders "No Deodorant Tour" Rolls On
Mr. Sanders contributed pieces only sporadically. He interviewed a “labor agitator” and an old-time farmer, and he wrote some articles about health, including one in which he cited studies claiming that cancer could be caused by psychological factors such as unresolved hostility toward one’s mother, a tendency to bury aggression beneath a “facade of pleasantness” and having too few orgasms.
“Sexual adjustment seemed to be very poor in those with cancer of the cervix,” he wrote, quoting a study in a journal called Psychosomatic Medicine. (New York Times, 7/3/2015)
As we have said many times about Colonel Sanders: It is best to just let him talk.
Liberals...this is your guy.

Hillary Clinton: "I IDENTIFY as your president..."
Pushing Her Buttons
In a sprawling park 30 miles outside Moscow, President Vladimir V. Putin welcomed the country’s first high-tech military exposition on Tuesday, announcing in his opening remarks that Russia would add 40 new intercontinental ballistic missiles to its nuclear stockpile this year. (New York Times, 6/17/2015)
RedStateVT: Secretary Clinton, the New York Times just reported that Russian President Putin is increasing that country's nuclear arsenal. Is this a failure of your 'Russian Reset' policy?
RedStateVT: Madame Secretary?
Clinton: I want to be president of ALL Americans!
RedStateVT: But Madame Secretary, we were asking about the apparent failure of your Russian Reset policy trumpeted during your tenure as Secretary of State. And as a follow-up, please explain how voters should feel about your ability to enact a robust and effective foreign policy as president.
RedStateVT: Madame Secretary?
Clinton: I would like to show everyone pictures of my lovely granddaughter....
Black and White
White Gunman Sought in Killing of 9 at Black Church in Charleston, S.C. (New York Times headline, 6/18/2015)
So has the New York Times EVER written a headline that said: Black Gunman Sought in Killing of White? We cannot remember.
Swiftly
Pope Francis, in Sweeping Encyclical, Calls for Swift Action on Climate Change (New York Times headline, 6/18/2015)
Liberals are falling all over themselves with this announcement. Some may even return to the church.
"Climate deniers can no long ignore the reality of climate change; even the pope says so!"
By the way, what does the pope say about gay marriage and abortion?
Pink

Trumped
The State-Controlled Media is hysterical over the candidacy of novelty Republican Donald Trump. Trump will NEVER poll higher than 5%, but CNN practically did a one hour special yesterday ginning up a non-existent Trump vs. Bush feud.
Meanwhile, Democrat novelty candidate Colonel Bernie Sanders is polling at 30% in New Hampshire!

Weekend at Bernie Sanders
Gray Matter
Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Democratic candidate for president Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) while admitting it was poorly written defended his recently surfaced 1972 rape fantasy essay as akin to the controversial book about female sexual submission, “Fifty Shades of Grey.” (Breitbart.com, 5/31/2015)
When a Republican says something stupid about rape, their professional life ends. Let's see what happens to Bernie. (Why look, he's gaining in the polls!)
Off the Clift
During this week’s version of the syndicated public affairs show “The McLaughlin Group,” The Daily Beast’s Eleanor Clift debated that Hillary Clinton’s wealth could actually be beneficial for her.
....
“If she’s elected, she would probably be the richest president ever, But is this a liability? I look back at FDR, I mean, he was very wealthy. He did a lot of great things for the little people.” (Breitbart.com, 5/31/2015)
If this line of reasoning sounds familiar, then you are remembering that it is exactly what Democrats said about Mitt Romney's wealth....how beneficial it would be for "the little people."
Ah, RedStateVT is just pulling your leg. What Democrats actually said was that Mitt Romney was a rapacious capitalist who had put millions of people out of work, killed others and whose wealth was a stain on America.
By George
On his Sunday morning news show George Stephanopolous took time out from reporting on the scandal in which newsman George Stephanopolous made undisclosed contributions to the Clinton Crime family Foundation. Instead, Stephanopolous turned his attention to a scandal in which a formerly prominent Republican politician who left office eight years ago was indicted. (RedStateVT, 5/31/2015)

Hillary: I can do lots of different accents!
Needy
“We need paid sick leave and guaranteed vacation time for all,” said Mr. Sanders, an independent who is challenging Hillary Rodham Clinton the Democratic nomination.
For Mr. Sanders, the proposal fits into his socialist-style platform of making tuition at public universities free and increasing the minimum wage.
Mr. Sanders has long applauded the European system where people in countries such as Denmark and Finland receive at least a month of paid vacation.
“People are under stress, they’re exhausted,”Mr. Sanders said during a recent interview with Bill Maher on HBO. “We should begin to look at other countries in Europe where people get by law five or six weeks vacation.” (New York Times, 5/28/2015)
Sometimes it is just best to let Bernie speak.
OK, we can't resist. Here is who Bernie appeals to: In addition to naive and foolish young people, anyone who is lazy and disaffected, who harbors inchoate grievances and believes that their situation in life is due to someone somewhere who screwed them.
Removal
The Obama administration Friday removed Cuba from a list of state sponsors of terrorism, a crucial step in normalizing ties between Washington and Havana and the latest progress in President Obama’s push to thaw relations between the United States and the island nation. (New York Times, 5/29/2015)

Democrat candidates reveal campaign slogans:
Hillary Clinton: It's my turn (let's get it over with)
also: Vote for me. I'm a grandmother.
Bernie Sanders: Everything free
Martin O'Malley: Have you seen your other choices?
also: I'm not a nut
Assumptions
Among liberals, it’s almost universally assumed that of the two major parties, it’s the Republicans who have become more extreme over the years. That’s a self-flattering but false narrative. (Peter Wehner, New York Times, 5/27/2015)
Good article that our Liberal friends should read. They rail endlessly about the Tea Party, but the Tea Party started as nothing more than a bunch of people who were frightened about the fiscal imprudence of our politicians. Liberals promptly labeled them "extreme."

America’s most powerful former law professor is getting a re-education in the Constitution, and on present course President Obama might flunk out. Witness Tuesday’s federal appeals-court rebuke of his 2014 immigration order, including language that suggests the Administration will also lose on the legal and policy merits. (Wall Street Journal, 5/27/2015)
We can only hope. Meanwhile we quote the following:
"...the 'problem' that Obama is purporting to fix is the absence of a law granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. Rather than executing a law, Obama is making one up - arrogating to himself a function that the Constitution explicitly allocates to Congress....the absence of a congressional law granting amnesty is not evidence of political failure that must somehow be corrected by unilateral executive action; it is evidence of the lack of popular consensus regarding illegal immigration." Bernie's Campaign Strategy Leaked: Will Run as Grumpy Old White Guy
10 Questions for Bernie Sanders
1) You are a socialist. Name a country where socialism works.
2) You have complained endlessly about "millionaires and billionaires" not paying their fair share. Does this include George Soros, Tom Steyer and Jeffrey Katzenberg?
3) What legislation have you sponsored and passed in your term in the Senate?
4) You had Senate oversight of the Veterans Affairs Department. Are you to blame for the scandals that were uncovered there during your term?
5) You have said that you will not criticize Hillary Clinton. Presumably your Republican opponents will not get the same treatment. Why does Hillary get a free pass?
6) Grade President Obama's performance as president on a scale of 1 to 10.
7) Your wife received a six figure severance from Burlington College when she was replaced. Did you refuse the money? If not, why not?
8) Will your campaign end with a bang or a whisper?
9) Will you continue your campaign as a third party candidate if RedStateVT is able to round up funding?
10) Is anyone responsible for their own situation in life according to your worldview or is everyone a victim?
Bonus question: Have you received any advice from Howard Dean, the last screwball presidential candidate from Vermont?
Smelly
He doesn’t flinch over returning to the 90 percent personal income tax rates of the 1950s for top earners. And if reducing income inequality reduces economic growth, he says, that’s fine. “You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants,” he said, “when children are hungry in this country.” (New York Times, 5/26/2015)
As RedStateVT gleefully predicted, the presidential run of Colonel Bernie Sanders gives the whole country the opportunity to learn firsthand about his nutjob ideas. Here we learn that he wants to confiscate the wealth of those who are successful and that too much deodorant causes poverty.
Thank you Colonel! We eagerly look forward to hearing more of your ideas on how to fix America.

We Begin the Process of Vetting Colonel Bernie Sanders
Burnie
(Bernie Sanders) thinks Social Security should increase benefits, no matter that it is heading toward insolvency. Higher taxes can make up the difference. He’d shrink the defense budget so foreign military operations would be all but impossible. He wants single-payer health care, though his own state gave up the experiment as too expensive. He thinks foreign trade impoverishes the middle class. (Wall Street Journal, 5/2/2015)
The phrases that you will hear (endlessly) from Colonel Bernie Sanders include:
Millionaires and billionaires - (Bernie's definition): The people responsible for the evil in the world
Bush and Cheney - (Bernie's definition): The people responsible for the evil in the world
Question for Bernie:

Question: What story has the New York Times identified as the most important of the decade?
Weathered
Hillary Rodham Clinton appears to have initially weathered a barrage of news about her use of a private email account when she was secretary of state and the practices of her family’s foundation, an indication that she is starting her second presidential bid with an unusual durability among Democratic voters. (New York Times, 5/5/2015)
In a poll of Democrat voters taken on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, support for Hillary remains strong. To have their preferences included respondents had to answer the following pre-qualification question in the affirmative: Have you given money to Hillary for President in the past 48 hours?
Super Duper
Hillary Rodham Clinton will begin personally courting donors for a super PAC supporting her candidacy, the first time a Democratic presidential candidate has fully embraced the independent groups that can accept unlimited checks from big donors and are already playing a major role in the 2016 race.
Her decision is another escalation in what is expected to be the most expensive presidential campaign in history. Mrs. Clinton’s allies hope that with her support, Priorities USA Action, the top Democratic super PAC, will be able to raise as much as $200 million to $300 million, on par with what the largest Republican organizations, such as the Karl Rove-founded American Crossroads super PAC and its nonprofit affiliate, spent in 2012.
Running for re-election that year, President Obama reluctantly endorsed fund-raising by the same super PAC now supporting Mrs. Clinton because of fears that he would be outspent by Republicans who were more aggressive in using what was then a new vehicle for raising large amounts of money that could be used in support of a campaign but not go directly to it. But he never appeared at any of its fund-raisers. (New York Times, 5/6/2015)
So noble Democrats only get down in the dirt and go the Super PAC route...because of the evil Republicans!

Ian Reisner, one of the two gay hoteliers facing boycott calls for hosting an event for Senator Ted Cruz, who is adamantly opposed to same-sex marriage, apologized to the gay community for showing “poor judgment.”
Mr. Reisner put the apology on Facebook, where a page calling for a boycott of his properties, the gay-friendly OUT NYC hotel and his Fire Island Pines holdings, had gotten more than 8,200 “likes” by Sunday evening. (New York Times, 4/27/2015)
Gay Rules:
