The Imperial Presidency
A friend sent us this picture of the President standing behind the Presidential podium using a teleprompter at an elementary school! Does this strike anyone as just a bit....odd?
Softies
The Taliban have embarked on a sophisticated information war, using modern media tools as well as some old fashioned ones, to soften their image and win favor with local Afghans….The Taliban’s spiritual leader, Mullah Muhammad Omar, issued a lengthy directive late last spring outlining a new code of conduct for the Taliban. The dictates include bans on suicide bombings against civilians, burning down schools, or cutting off ears, lips and tongues. (NYT, 1/21/2010)

RedStateVT says it’s always good to be reminded of who we are fighting!

Bad Economics
The fact is that the Senate bill is a centrist document, which moderate Republicans should find entirely acceptable. (Paul Krugman, NYT, 1/22/2010)

Krugman has a BA from Yale, a PhD from MIT and is an Economics professor at Princeton. How could someone so educated be so clueless?
