You could never accuse the Times of not doing all they can to help Obama. Meanwhile, to see what other topics the Times COULD have included, we turn to the Drudge Report:

Private Thoughts
Since the spring, President Barack Obama's re-election campaign has repeatedly hit Mitt Romney for his career as a private-equity executive and has aired ads accusing his former firm, Bain Capital, of ruining businesses and sending jobs overseas.

At the same time, the Obama White House played a central role in encouraging another private-equity firm to rescue a Philadelphia oil refinery, whose imminent closure by owner Sunoco Inc. SUN -0.17% threatened to send gasoline prices higher before the election. (WSJ, 8/21/2012)

The White House response is something along the lines of...'we would NEVER have done this deal with Bain Capital.'

Not Normal
Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the pro-marijuana group NORML, doesn’t get many calls like this. Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin rang him up last week, he said, and told him he’d like to be a national spokesman for the marijuana reform movement. (Burlington Free Press, 8/6/2012)

Apologies for not reporting on this previously. Apparently things are going so swimmingly in Vermont that Governor Shumlin has time to work on other issues...
