On the Run
In a sane world, the government would be running the whole health care plan... (Gail Collins, NYT, 2/8/2012)
The New York Times labels this column on the Obama contraception mandate: Forcing Dogma on the Public.
So let's review. A government in power for three years pushes a mandate on a 2000 year old institution that violates the latter's core beliefs. Only in the world of Liberals can this be termed "forcing dogma on the public."
Oh and on that other point of the government running the whole health care plan, let's take a random look (from the very same New York Times!) at how the government does on this type of big program:
Despite the billions earmarked in the accord, the aid will help a relatively small portion of the millions of borrowers who are delinquent and facing foreclosure. The success could depend in part on how effectively the program is carried out, because earlier efforts by Washington aimed at troubled borrowers helped far fewer than had been expected. (NYT, 2/9/2012)
Oooops!
Still Hoping
The president better hope those Occupy Wall Street voters don’t read Bloomberg News. Hans Nichols, who covers Obama for Bloomberg, has a richly reported piece that Obama’s most important advisers are privately pleading with the same Wall Street titans they vilify to help fund their reelection campaign. (Politico.com, 2/9/2012)
So far Wall Street appears to have learned its lesson and has effectively defunded Obama. Will they hold firm? RedStateVT bets no.
