KNUCKLEHEADS OF THE DAY

RedStateVT is pleased to recognize the following as Knuckleheads of the Day:

Dan Rather - the disgraced newsman's defamation suit against CBS is thrown out in a unanimous ruling. Rather vows to appeal! We wonder how he will find the time given his continuing efforts to prove that GWB skipped out a week early on his Texas Air National Guard service.

Woody Allen - the disgraced director signs on in support of disgraced director Roman Polanski. You cannot make stuff like this up!

  1. I'm surprised it took this long for the lastest chapter in Dan's humiliation to close.

Boy does his disgrace bring back fond memories! I had just recently discovered the blogosphere when the recycled National Guard story broke. Little Green Footballs posted a recreation of the memo using a default Microsoft Word setting, and others had researched how the memo's typeset (particulary the superscript) could not possibly have been created by the typewriters available in the early '70s. All hell broke loose as the first right wing blogstorm swept the nation. The memos were faked! Checkmate media bias.

Certainly Dan would have to admit that he'd been duped and that his story was based on a lie cooked up by sufferers of Bush Derangement Syndrome. I watched the CBS evening news that night for the first time in 20 years probably to see what he would say. I was mesmerized when Dan stood by the story – as well as by the number of Depends commercials!

Why did he do it? I was hoping that we’d get the answer during the civil suit, but alas, the jury came to its senses.
