Avoidance
This video features Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains VP & Medical Director Savita Ginde discussing the practice of procuring baby parts as well as how to avoid media scrutiny of their organ harvesting.
Toward the end of the video, the cameras get inside the abortion clinic’s pathological laboratory. Medical assistants are heard and seen cracking skulls, and extracting brains. “Here’s some organs for you,” a Planned Parenthood employee said. “Here’s a stomach, kidney, heart.” A medical assistant exclaims: “And another boy!” (Mollie Hemingway, thefederalist.com, 9/29/2015)
Has Barack Obama seen the Planned Parenthood videos? Bernie Sanders? Hillary Clinton? Have ANY Democrats seen the videos. We doubt it. No person with an ounce of humanity could support Planned Parenthood after watching the videos depicting the aftermarket dealing in fetal body parts. So supporters willfully choose to ignore the barbarism in order to garner votes from Liberal women and lecture Republicans on "women's health."
Secreto
Pope Francis met secretly in Washington last week with Kim Davis, the county clerk in Kentucky who defied a court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, her lawyer said in a telephone interview Tuesday night. Francis gave her rosaries and told her to “stay strong,” the lawyer said. (New York Times, 9/30/2015)
Today, even the papacy is political. Francis goes long on decrying capitalism and climate change, but meets in private with Kim Davis and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Jesus wept.
Extension
“To the extent that the expanding welfare state allows more people to live without working—and therefore without earning income or developing their own human capital—supporters of the welfare state are contributing to the very income disparities they so much decry,” writes economist Thomas Sowell in his new book, “Wealth, Poverty and Politics.” (Jason Riley, Wall Street Journal, 9/30/2015)
Call this a daily double. Jason Riley AND Thomas Sowell. Hats off to both.
Reflections of a ‘Master Legislator’ (New York Times headline, 9/30/2015)
The Master Legislator? None other than Teddy "Scotch and Soda" Kennedy! Among the Tedster's accomplishments described herein: immigration reform resulting in the current flood of Mexicans into the U.S. Read Ann Coulter's "Adios America" for a detailed analysis of how that is working out.
And then there is this:
But one of the withheld transcripts dealt with the death of Mary Jo Kopechne in a car Mr. Kennedy drove off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island in 1969. James Sterling Young, the professor of government and foreign affairs who led the oral history project and conducted the Kennedy interviews, said in 2009 that one interview dealt with Chappaquiddick.
Lesser
History will remember Barack Obama as the president who conducted foreign policy less as a principled exercise in the application of American power than as an extended attempt to justify the evasion of it. (Bret Stephens, Wall Street Journal, 9/29/2015)
That's it, isn't it?

Touchy Feely
“I think Hillary would be a great president but I have… I have no confidence in my political feel anymore,” (Bill)Clinton said. (freebeacon.com, 9/28/2015)
We were going to make all sorts of jokes about "Bill losing his feel" but the bigger story is that the Democrat party has moved away from the Clintons. Even Bill knows it. It is now the party of Elizabeth Warren.
Ponder that.
You Say Hello
Greetings from Copenhagen, where I'll be speaking at the Danish Parliament tomorrow, Saturday, on the tenth anniversary of the Mohammed cartoons. If you're one of the untold millions of "Syrian" "refugees" currently vacationing in Northern Europe, do swing by and say hi. (Mark Steyn, steynonline, 9/28/2015)
Proving - once again - that conservatives (in addition to being right) are hysterically funny!

Anchor Baby Anchor Baby Anchor Baby
Note to Pope Francis: It is Capitalism, not Socialism, which creates the wealth that supports the poor ... and the Church.
Evident
There is no evidence that any of the emails — a small portion of some 60,000 that Mrs. Clinton sent or received as secretary of state — were hacked or caused any harm to American interests, and law enforcement officials have said she is not a target of their investigation. But one of the questions they are seeking to answer is whether her aides or other State Department officials broke federal rules or laws when they sent her information. And arriving at an answer will not be simple, given the complex and often conflicting views of just how diplomatically fragile the information conveyed in the emails actually was. (New York Times, 9/25/2015)
So the final strategy for containing the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal is now in place:
--Hillary did nothing illegal.
--Her aides will take the fall for any criminal acts.
--The whole question of what is and is not classified is just so darn confusing anyway.
The path to the nomination is now clear.
Huma Watch
Hillary Rodham Clinton was directly involved in arranging a new government position for a top aide that allowed the aide to begin working for a private consulting firm while remaining at the State Department, according to documents released on Thursday.
The documents, released by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, show that Mrs. Clinton personally signed forms establishing a new title and position for the aide, Huma Abedin, in March 2012. The forms were part of a broader process in which Ms. Abedin, then Mrs. Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, was transitioning to a role as a “special government employee,” which allowed her to collect salaries from the State Department, the Clinton Foundation and the private firm, Teneo, which was co-founded by a former aide to President Clinton. (New York Times, 9/25/2015)
"....which allowed her to collect salaries from the State Department, the Clinton Foundation and the private firm, Teneo..."
Wow! Well done Huma. Nothing about this will make anyone cynical about either government or the Clintons. Of course, Hillary previously denied any involvement in Huma's unique job arrangement.
Remind us again why most of America views Hillary Clinton as untrustworthy?
Fishy
“Liberals and progressives will spend inordinate amounts of time and money protecting fish, frogs and flies,” Mrs. Fiorina said, adding: “They do not think a 17-week-old, a 20-week-old, a 24-week-old is worth saving. This, ladies and gentlemen, is hypocrisy, and it goes to the core of the character of our nation.” (New York Times, 9/25/2015)
Just as Liberals think it is OK to kill granny, but not a death row murderer. Well put by Fiorina. We like this "character of our nation" dialog.
Squishy
Despite the criticism from the right of Mr. Boehner as a “squish” or a Republican-in-name only, he was actually a strong conservative with the two-decade voting record and beliefs to match. He was someone who knew how Washington worked and wanted to keep it working as much on Republican terms as possible, given a Democratic president and for a time, a Democratic Senate. (New York Times, 9/26/2015)
Exactly as predicted by conservative commentators, the Liberal press now begins to heap praise upon the departing John Boehner. Why he was so much more reasonable than those radical Tea Partiers!
Cold Steel
Her silver tongue honed by decades in corporate marketing, Carly Fiorina has used two debates, and a steely determination on the campaign trail, to climb near the top of the polls for the Republican nomination.
But Americans should pause on her biggest professional credential for our highest office: a short, disastrous stint atop one of America’s iconic technology companies, Hewlett-Packard. (Steven Rattner, New York Times, 9/26/2015)
Steven Rattner REALLY does not like Carly Fiorina. She was - according to him - a bad CEO. Remind us again, who Steven Rattner is? Oh, that's right, he's this guy:
Quadrangle paid $7 million in April 2010 to settle the SEC investigation, and Rattner personally settled in November for $6.2 million without admitting or denying any wrongdoing. (Wikipedia)
And who does Rattner think was a good CEO? Why none other than Mitt Romney, that rapacious capitalist who plundered companies:
However, the lack of public service or sustained business success makes Mrs. Fiorina unqualified for the nation’s highest office. By comparison, Mitt Romney had built an extraordinarily successful investment firm and served for four years as governor of Massachusetts.
Liberals are just TOO much.

Spell Check
The Decider
From Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, campaigning in Iowa on Tuesday: I thought this would be decided by now, and therefore I could tell you whether I agreed or I disagreed. But it hasn’t been decided, and I feel now I’ve got a responsibility to you and to other voters who ask me about this. (Wall Street Journal, 9/23/2015)
This deserves to be read carefully. Basically Hillary says that she expected Keystone to be resolved, after which she would have told us whether she agreed or disagreed.
How is that for leadership!
Anomalous
The Transportation Security Administration defended its officers’ treatment of a transgender woman on Tuesday, a day after she says she was harassed and held for 40 minutes while passing through security in Orlando, Fla., causing her to miss a flight.
The transgender woman, Shadi Petosky, said Tuesday in an interview that T.S.A. officers at Orlando International Airport calibrated the full-body scanner for a woman, and the device flagged what officers called an “anomaly” in the groin area. (New York Times, 9/23/2015)
So once again it is left to RedStateVT to set the record right. Given the "anomaly" found by the T.S.A. it is clear that dear Shadi is not "transgendered." That is when you have the anomaly removed. Shadi is a transvestite, i.e. a dude who dresses up in ladies clothes. We are happy to provide this clarification, but how many times are we going to have to do so?
Politics
Energy and policy experts have long said that the battle over Keystone XL is chiefly political, because the pipeline would have little effect on either climate change or the United States job market. A State Department analysis last year found the pipeline would not significantly add to carbon pollution, because the oil was already reaching refineries by other pipelines and by rail. (New York Times, 9/23/2015)
So energy experts - many of whom we can call scientists - say Keystone XL will not impact the climate. Yet Liberals oppose it. Let's call them what they are: pipeline deniers, science deniers.
Coffee Time
Last year, Starbucks vowed to provide store employees with more consistent schedules from week to week, and to post their schedules at least 10 days in advance. The company said it would stop asking workers to endure the sleep-depriving ritual known as a “clopening,” which requires them to shut down a store at night only to return early the next morning to help open it.
But Starbucks has fallen short on these promises, according to interviews with five current or recent workers at several locations across the country. Most complained that they often receive their schedules one week or less in advance, and that the schedules vary substantially every few weeks. Two said their stores still practiced clopenings. (New York Times, 9/23/2015)
The poor babes! They sometimes do not get their schedules one week in advance. And they have to come in to work early in the morning. What a generation of wimps we have in this country. Starbucks should fight back and point out that no one is forced to work at the grueling job of pouring coffee. Starbucks won't because it is part of the Liberal culture that has now turned on it. Note that the story is based on interviews with five employees. Five. Great journalism coup New York Times.
Recovery
F.B.I. investigators have recovered work-related and personal emails that Hillary Rodham Clinton said had been deleted from the server that housed the personal account she used exclusively when she was secretary of state, according to two government officials. (New York Times, 9/23/2015)
So maybe we can stop talking about whether a Muslim should be president for five minutes and talk about whether a former Secretary of State should be president.

We Don't Think A Muslim Should Be President Either
Summertime Blues
A rough political summer has left Hillary Rodham Clinton with negative favorability ratings in a New York state poll for the first time, a low mark in the state she represented as a senator for eight years. (New York Times, 9/21/2015)
Question: Why are Hill's favorability ratings so low in New York?
Answer: New Yorkers know her.
Barbeque Time
Stephanopoulos Grills Trump: Why Can't You Say That Obama Is American, Not A Muslim? (realclearpolitics.com, 9/21/2015)
Well here's the height of hypocrisy from Stephy. It was to Georgie Boy that Obama first admitted that he was a Muslim. Think we are wrong? Look it up.
End Game
...California’s End of Life Option Act would allow people in the advanced stages of a terminal illness to obtain a lethal dose of painkillers from a physician. Mr. Brown should sign the bill into law. (New York Times editorial, 9/22/2015)
New York Times editors: OK to kill old people and the unborn; not OK to kill murderers.
Indecent Proposal
Mayor Rahm Emanuel is expected on Tuesday to propose what officials in the nation’s third-largest city are calling Chicago’s largest property tax increase in modern history. The increase, to be phased in over four years, would raise property taxes by more than $500 million. Mr. Emanuel, who had steered clear of raising property taxes during his first four-year term and is only months into his second, will also seek new fees or taxes on garbage pickup, trips in taxis and ride-sharing services, and electronic cigarettes, administration officials said on Monday. (New York Times, 9/22/2015)
With Liberal leaders in Liberal cities it is taxes, always taxes. How else to pay for social engineering?

Measured
By any measure, President Obama’s effort to train a Syrian opposition army to fight the Islamic State on the ground has been an abysmal failure. The military acknowledged this week that just four or five American-trained fighters are actually fighting. But the White House says it is not to blame. (New York Times, 9/18/2015)
We'll make an educated guess here and say that the real culprit according to Obama is.....George Bush.
Blameless
In effect, Mr. Obama is arguing that he reluctantly went along with those who said it was the way to combat the Islamic State, but that he never wanted to do it and has now has been vindicated in his original judgment. (New York Times, 9/18/2015)
Turns out that even when he is wrong, Obama is right!
Wayward
“Barack Obama is a talented man,” Mr. Bush said during a 20-minute speech at the Grand Hotel. “And, by the way, he is an American, he is a Christian.” (New York Times, 9/19/2015)
No Republican can hope to become president unless they take the oath: "I do solemnly swear that Barack Obama is an American and a Christian."
Another Special Interest First!
U. S. President Barack Obama on Friday nominated an openly gay civilian to head the Army, a first for such a job at the Pentagon. (Wall Street Journal, 9/20/2015)
Another box checked. Next up: the first transgendered Secretary of State. Oh wait! We forgot about John Kerry.

Debatable
Justly
Just eight months ago, President Obama was proposing to effectively end the popular college savings accounts known as 529s. On Monday, with Mr. Obama next to him, Education Secretary Arne Duncan embraced them and even seemed to suggest they should be expanded. (New York Times, 9/15/2015)
So the question is, did Obama flip-flop or did he "evolve?"
Promises
The advertisement goes on to argue that Mr. Trump’s promised wall along the border with Mexico would be unfeasible and that the cost of deporting illegal immigrants en masse would sink the economy. (New York Times, 9/15/2015)
The Great Wall of China, Hadrian's Wall, the Berlin Wall, the walls surrounding every Liberal Hollywood actor's house... there have been some pretty successful walls in history. Suddenly Liberals have decided that walls don't work.
Suspected
After they were done, Mr. Deng was dying from brain and bodily injuries, a prefinals weekend retreat had turned into the scene of a murder investigation, and his fellow pledges, big brothers and fraternity leaders were its primary suspects. (New York Times, 9/16/2015)
There is nothing the media loves more than a good fraternity crime story. It doesn't matter whether it is a fake rape story or an actual hazing death, the nexus of (usually white) privilege and malfeasance is too tempting.
Meanwhile, anyone know how many black youths died last night in the urban ghettos of Baltimore...or Chicago...or St. Louis?
Anyone?
Failing
Teachers in Seattle public schools suspended a nearly weeklong strike on Tuesday, announcing that they had agreed on a new contract with the city’s school board. Classes are to resume on Thursday.
The strike began last Wednesday and delayed the start of the school year for 53,000 students and 5,000 teachers and support workers....Stacy Howard, a spokeswoman for the Seattle school district, called the move “a huge step.”
“What we’re going to do is focus on getting back and healing,” Ms. Howard said. “We’re all here for these kids.” (New York Times, 9/16/2015)
Yes, it's true. Teachers - who periodically strike when they are unhappy with their bountiful health care and pension plans - are all about the "kids."
And their own greed.

Less Diversity, More Assimilation
Criminal
Because, well, lots of Republicans say they believe that in deleting more than 30,000 emails from her personal server, Mrs. Clinton may have committed a crime. (Ashley Parker, New York Times, 9/14/2015)
Hey Ash, 60% of Americans believe Hillary is dishonest. Sounds like more than "lots of Republicans."
Alarmed
The alarming murder increase prompted an emergency meeting of the Major Cities Chiefs Association last month. Homicides were up 76% in Milwaukee, 60% in St. Louis, and 56% in Baltimore through mid-August, compared with the same period in 2014; murder was up 47% in Minneapolis and 36% in Houston through mid-July. (Heather MacDonald, Wall Street Journal, 9/13/2015)
So RedStateVT did a little investigative work and, admittedly it wasn't heavy lifting. What do the mayors of Milwaukee, St. Louis, Baltimore, Minneapolis and Houston all have in common. If you guessed "they are are Homo Sapiens" you would be correct. If you went a bit farther and said "they are all Democrats" you would even more correct! (Milwaukee, since 2004; St. Louis, four terms(!); Baltimore, African-American female since 2010; Minneapolis, female; Houston, female since 2010). So long-term Democrat mayors, including affirmative action politicians, combined with defanging law enforcement leads to increased murder of African-Americans. Just another way that Liberals are helping the black underclass....
Of course not everyone believes the statistics...
Scare Headlines Exaggerated The U.S. Crime Wave - If you’ve read reports of a U.S. crime wave this year and wondered how many cities it was really affecting, you’re not alone. We’ve spent the last week trying to answer that question and have compiled 2015 homicide data for nearly all of the 60 biggest cities. The results confirm that there has been an increase in homicides this year in big U.S. cities of about 16 percent.
But that doesn’t come close to reversing the long-term decline in homicides. (Carl Bialik, fivethirtyeight.com, 9/14/2015)
Yes, you read that correctly. The crime wave is exaggerated. Homicides are up 'only' 16 percent.
Nothing to worry about America.

Invocation
A former aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton who helped set up the server that housed Mrs. Clinton’s private email account plans to invoke his Fifth Amendment right in response to congressional questions about the email practices, according to two people who have been briefed on the matter. (New York Times, 9/3/2015)
Nothing significant about this, of course. A Chris Christie aide resigns for causing a traffic jam in New Jersey. (In New Jersey, the absence of a traffic jam is deemed suspicious.) Hillary's aide invokes the Fifth and it is marginally newsworthy. Onward to the nomination!
Intensity
A Kentucky county clerk who has become a symbol of religious opposition to same-sex marriage was jailed Thursday after defying a federal court order to issue licenses to gay couples....The judge’s decision to jail Ms. Davis, a 49-year-old Democrat who was elected last year, immediately intensified the attention focused on her, a longtime government worker who is one of three of Kentucky’s 120 county clerks who contend that their religious beliefs keep them from recognizing same-sex nuptials.(New York Times, 9/4/2015)
Hold the phone sister! Davis is a Democrat? How can that be? As we know - because the media told us - all Democrats believe in gay marriage, global warming, gay marriage, abortion, gay marriage, gun control, gay marriage, higher taxes, etc. Also, how did editors at the New York Times allow this inconvenient truth to be published?

Spicy
Over and Over
More than 30 other cities have also reported increases in violence from a year ago. In New Orleans, 120 people had been killed by late August, compared with 98 during the same period a year earlier. In Baltimore, homicides had hit 215, up from 138 at the same point in 2014. In Washington, the toll was 105, compared with 73 people a year ago. And in St. Louis, 136 people had been killed this year, a 60 percent rise from the 85 murders the city had by the same time last year....“Across the country, we’ve all found it’s not the individual who never committed a crime before suddenly killing somebody,” Mr. McCarthy said on Monday. “It’s the repeat offenders. It’s the same people over and over again.” (New York Times, 9/1/2015)
Liberals are marching in the streets after thugs who threaten police and refuse to surrender are shot. Meanwhile the thugs are killing each other - and the occasional innocent victim - with abandon. We've seen this movie before: tougher laws will eventually be enacted to take the criminals off the streets and keep them off the streets. And then, inevitably, Liberals will begin to whine about how poor minority neighborhoods were decimated by the mass incarceration of young males. (That is, the thugs.)
Egged on by Vice President Al Sharpton, President Hillary Clinton will open the jail doors and set the criminals free.
Blow by Blow
Monday on CNN’s “AC360,” New York Times columnist and CNN regular Charles Blow was asked to react to the argument the Black Lives Matter movement and misses a point that all lives matter and shouldn’t be used as a rallying cry.
According to Blow, it’s a “great concept” but ignores the different treatments of people along racial lines.
“In general, that is a great concept,” Blow replied. “And I wish that all of America believed that all lives matter. However, what we see is disparate treatments of different segments of the population, particularly along racial lines in America, which looks like devaluation of specific segments of the population, specifically black people. And I think that until America says, in its core, that all lives matter, it is appropriate, and in fact necessary to point out the lives that America seems to value less.”
Blow went on to argue that since the government in charge in America is a reflection of the people, America is against black people because certain elements of the government don’t treat blacks equally in his view. (Breitbart.com, 8/31/2015)
If only America had a black president. Or a black woman as senior advisor to a black president. Or a black Attorney General. Or black congressmen. Or black governors. Or black mayors.
Reserved
Mr. Casey, who announced his decision in a 17-page memo that included a page and a half of footnotes, said in an interview that he still had many deep reservations, especially doubts that Iran would keep up its end of the bargain. But he said he ultimately concluded that it was in the national security interests of the United States to support the agreement. (New York Times, 9/2/2015)
Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania. Has "deep reservations" about the Iran deal. About whether Iran will cheat.
Not to worry. He gets quickly past his internal conflicts...and sells out his country.
In Writing
Mr. Coons said in a speech at the University of Delaware on Tuesday that just that morning he had received personal, written assurances from Mr. Obama on a range of concerns before finally deciding to endorse the deal. (New York Times, 9/2/2015)
Senator Chris Coons of Delaware. Gets private assurances from Obama on the Iran deal. Why not share?
Then he sells out the country.
Meanwhile, here is what the Iranians are saying....
The head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, announced plans to expand the reach of Iran’s missiles and warned that despite the nuclear deal, America was still the “same Great Satan.” (New York Times, 9/2/2015)
Dependency
But Mr. Biden’s chances of winning the nomination, if he decides to run, may depend on whether Hillary Rodham Clinton’s bumpy summer turns into a disastrous autumn or winter. And there are no signs that will happen. (New York Times, 9/2/2015)
No signs. None. Not a single one. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
